School or youth outing: a boat for your groups in Paris

An outing on the Seine can become a highlight for a class, an activity centre or a youth association. It does, however, call for specific preparation, focused on supervision and safety.

A natural educational resource

The boat lets you discover the history of Paris, the architecture of the quays and the great monuments from an unusual angle. A short commentary prepared in advance gives the outing real educational value.

Supervision comes first

• Provide a number of accompanying adults suited to the age of the participants
• Brief the group on the rules for moving around on board
• Appoint one responsible adult for each sub-group

Choose a suitable format

For young people, favour a sensible duration, a daytime slot and a boat with room to sit and move around safely. A moored boat may suit the youngest groups.

Plan the organisation

Confirm the number of participants, any permissions needed and the conditions for access to the quay with the team. Good preparation makes the outing smooth and reassuring for everyone.
