'Is it too late to book?' often comes up in our very first conversation. The answer depends mainly on your target date and the size of your event, but a few guidelines can help you see more clearly before you even request a quote.

Why the ideal lead time varies so much
A boat is a limited resource: unlike a venue that can sometimes free up at the last minute, each boat is only available once per time slot. The more popular the date (a weekend in high season, Bastille Day, New Year's Eve), the further ahead you need to plan.
Our general guidelines
- Weddings and large-scale events - ideally several months ahead, especially for a Saturday between May and September.
- Seminars and corporate events - usually a few weeks to two months ahead, depending on the size of the group.
- Birthdays, hen and stag parties and small groups - often possible with a few weeks' notice, depending on current availability.
- Exceptional dates (Bastille Day, New Year's Eve) - to be booked several months ahead, as demand is so high.
What if your date is coming up soon?
Even a few weeks before the event, there is often still availability, particularly on weekdays or outside high season: the simplest thing is to send us your date and number of guests so we can quickly check what is still possible, rather than assuming it is too late.

Is a deposit required?
Yes, bookings are usually confirmed with a deposit, with the balance paid before or after the event according to the terms agreed.
Does requesting a quote commit me to anything?

Can I change the date or number of guests after booking?
In most cases, yes, subject to availability: let us know as early as possible so we can update your booking.
