Working out the price per person of a boat hire in Paris
When you hire a boat privately in Paris, the quote covers the boat, not each guest. To compare with a restaurant or a venue, though, it is useful to bring the cost down to a per-person figure. Here is the method, with no invented figures, to help you see clearly.

Why the hire is priced as a whole
A private boat hire in Paris includes the boat, the crew and a set period of time. The price therefore depends on the boat, the duration, the date and the package, not on the exact number of guests, as long as the maximum capacity is respected.
How to arrive at a cost per guest
- Add up the price of the boat and all services (catering, DJ, decoration)
- Divide by the number of guests actually expected
- Compare on equivalent capacity and duration, never on a single criterion
What brings the cost per person down
Filling the boat as close to capacity as possible, choosing a slot outside peak season or opting for a weekday generally helps optimise your budget. A boat that is too big for your group dilutes the value of the hire.
Comparing with a conventional venue
A reception venue often charges separately for the hire, the furniture and the service. On a boat, the setting, the cruise and the view of the monuments are all part of the experience: factor that value into your comparison.
