Booking a boat in Paris : how far in advance should you plan?

"Is it too late to book?" comes up in almost every first exchange. The answer mostly depends on the date you're after and the size of your event, but a few guidelines help clarify things before you even request a quote.

Why the ideal lead time varies so much

A boat remains a limited resource: unlike a venue that can sometimes free up at the last minute, each boat is only available once per time slot. The more in-demand the date (a high-season Saturday, Bastille Day, New Year's Eve), the further ahead you need to plan.

Our general guidelines

• Weddings and large-scale events — ideally several months ahead, especially for a Saturday between May and September.
• Seminars and corporate events — generally a few weeks to two months ahead, depending on group size.
• Birthdays, bachelorette/bachelor parties and small groups — often possible with a few weeks' notice, depending on current availability.
• Exceptional dates (Bastille Day, New Year's Eve) — to book several months ahead given the strong demand.

Even a few weeks before your event, availability often remains — especially on weekdays or outside high season. The simplest approach is to send us your date and guest count so we can quickly check what's still possible, rather than assuming it's too late.
